EVERYMAN's note 15 / Big Engine or Small Engine with Turbo ?

Hi, I found the news that Renault is going to release a new vehicle named Captur next month when I was checking new vehicle catalogs. It looks a light SUV and I felt it looks so familiar to me. I learned why soon later. They said the platform & basic mechanism are same with my car. Then I remembered Renault & Nissan are closely related.

Captur's engine is 1200cc turbo (There seems to be a diesel model also). I feel a small engine capacity with turbo is poplar in latest vehicles. A while ago, I heard SUZUKI changed their developing plan of Swift Sport's engine from 1600cc to 1000cc with turbo. I think it is one of ways to display the car's strong point, agility.

Reducing an engine capacity makes the total weight of vehicle lighter, and makes the fuel efficiency better. Then a turbo is required to make up the engine power. But on the other hand, the mechanism become more complicated, and require an oil changing more frequently.

Which engine do you choose?
