On April 4, 2019, Mercedes-Benz Japan has set up a new grade "G 350d" equipped with a diesel engine in "G-class" and has started accepting orders. Delivery is scheduled to start around July of the same year.
The G-class is a full cross-country car that was born in 1979, and in 2018 received a major improvement to the vehicle structure.
The G350d, which will be introduced this time, will be the first diesel engine-equipped car to be set as an improved model.
The transmission is a 9-speed AT "9G-TRONIC", which has two gears more than conventional models, and contributes to reduction of fuel consumption by lowering the engine speed using high gears.
