Jaguar Land Rover unveiled the new "Land Rover Range Rover" for the first time in the world on October 26, 2021 (local time) in London, England.
Land Rover Range Rover was introduced in 1970 as a pioneer of luxury SUVs. It has been a driving force in the segment for more than half a century due to its high comfort and ability to run on all terrain.
The new model announced this time is the 5th generation, and the design of the vehicle has been renewed from the conventional model. This is the first model to adopt Land Rover's new architecture "MLA-Flex (flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture)". This architecture features high flexibility for primarily engine-powered vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), and 100% electrically driven electric vehicles (EVs), as well as for new range rover vehicles. The lineup includes mild hybrid vehicles and PHEVs. Of these, the PHEV model is available in two types, 510PS and 440PS. It keeps carbon dioxide emissions below 30g / km and achieves an EV mileage of 100km in terms of WLTP value. In 2024, Land Rover's first EV model will also be introduced.
There are two body types, standard wheelbase (SWB) and long wheelbase (LWB). In addition to the 2-row 5-seater seat layout, the LWB will also have a 2-row 4-seater and Range Rover's first 3-row 7-seater. Comfort is also emphasized, and 3rd generation active noise canceling that enhances the quietness in the car and "Air Purification System Pro" equipped with dual "Nanoe X" technology that reduces allergens and removes viruses are adopted. In addition, as an initiative to reduce the environmental burden, we have prepared an interior option "Kvadrat Premium Textile" that does not use leather.
The performance on rough roads has been improved and the dynamic texture has been further improved. The "Integrated Chassis Control (ICC) System" that comprehensively controls chassis-related functions and equipment, and the four-wheel steering mechanism "All Wheels" Equipped with "steering" etc. A roll control function by electronic control is also adopted.
