Toyota Motor upgraded the plug-in hybrid Prius PHV, and released it on May 9, 2019.
In this improvement, in addition to changing the number of passengers from the conventional four people to five people, the mechanism "V2H" which supplies electricity stored in the car to the house is set as an option. If connected to a V2H device, the power stored in the Prius PHV drive battery can be used as household power. In addition, surplus power generated by solar power generation in a house can be transferred to a driving battery of the vehicle. On vehicles equipped with this system, it can be fully charged in about 1 hour and 30 minutes, which is significantly shorter than when using a normal 200 V charging cable (normal charge / full charge about 2 hours and 20 minutes).
In addition, a rear cross traffic alert that detects and warns of vehicles approaching from the left and right rear when backing up from the parking lot and a panoramic view monitor that displays an image of the vehicle seen from above on the navigation screen are newly added. In addition to the standard installation grade of Intelligent Clearance Sonar [parking support brake (stationary)], the standard installation grade has been expanded (standard other than "S" grade, optional for S).
Prices range from 3,178,440 yen to 4,266,000 yen.
