Toyota Motor Corporation held an online presentation on December 22, 2020, and reported on the development progress of the next-generation autonomous driving EV "e-Palette" and the outlook for future operation.
The e-pallet is a next-generation mobility that was first unveiled at CES 2018 (Las Vegas, USA) in January 2018. Assuming an automatic driving function, it is expected to support people's lives in various services such as transportation, logistics, and product sales. Development is currently underway, and in July 2021, it will be used as a bus to patrol the athletes' village at the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
